Puzzle no more, you are mistaken. There IS such a thing as a cranberry tree,

however, it is not related to the cranberries we know in Cranapple juice or cranberry sauce. The cranberries we are used to are grown in a bog, similar to the way rice is grown, not on bare ground. This tree is related to the honeysuckle family.
Anyway, this is a game...if they introduce a marshmallow tree, I suppose we will all hear from you again!
