Default British Telecom and Sky Users Cannot Load Farm

It appears there are technical difficulties at British Telecom which are preventing some users from accessing their farms and for some even the forum. Please pass this information on to anyone you know who cannot get to the forum and is having problems with their farms.

The problem does lie on the bt.net end and is intermittent and random. This explains why some are able to access their farms eventually while others cannot.

It is not clear if there is anything the developers can do to help with this situation, but we will report these problems to them.

We will update this thread if we gain any new information.

Yes there was a temporary problem with virgin as well but nothing like as bad as the BT/Sky users.

It was a DNS problem... Slashkey for some reason was removed from the DNS servers for Sky and BT. Changing the DNS settings temporarily to 4.2.2.2 solved the problem immediately.

Slashkey might consider that they were removed because of the occasional rogue AV ads they inadvertently display.

That actually goes all the way back to their host server, which for some reason also ends up on the black list for certain antivirus programs.

However, that was not the whole problem, as there were several reports from members who attempted to change the dns settings and had no luck.

It does appear though that the problem has been fixed so we will be closing this thread.
