The only workaround that we know of its the one you were using already of leaving a gift in the gift box.

Since the game is not written for any specific browser then any differences would have to be the browser itself and not something the developers programmed or can fix.
As I said you need to contact Support on this as there is nothing we can do to help through the forums.
