OFFICIAL Can't see people-chat-hire in marketplace or elsewhere

For some reason it won't let me type in the chat box at all. Any ideas?

theres a couple of reasons
1) you are typing the same thing .. if so try changing it slighty
2) you are in full screen? if so come out and you can chat

When I enter the marketplace to hire/be hired there are no avatars there. I have tried repeatedly without success.

I, too, am having a problem seeing anybody working in my fields 7 , 3 and sometimes field 8.
What have I tried? ----
Cleared history
Cleared memcache
rebooted farm town
refreshed farm town
refreshed my farm - this will bring up the work done but not show the worker nor the ongoing work, have to keep refreshing.
Yes, 7 and 8 farms were stacked on a single layer but farm 9 was stacked also and I could see my NB on that farm.
There are not too many buildings or animals on those farms and I often turn off everything that I am not using - eg trees etc
Could it just be the update/releases that are causing it?
Can you suggest any other things that I might do, please?

Ok, this just started late this afternoon. No matter how I go to the market..there is no one there. I just returned to playing FT about a month ago after about an 18 mo. hiatus and this is very frustrating. Need real help here..not general information.

I have followed all suggestions like selecting english language again...cleaning my cashe, going in through a neighbor, but still cannot see anyone when I go to the market. How do I get realtime help with this issue?

Are you sure you are on-line (the plug up top green)?

When ever i type a letter in the chat box, it appears as a number. this is in all the different chat boxes in Farm Town. Is there a fix for this?

What browser are you using? Have you tried to use a different browser to see if it is the same?
