i have over the last 5 hrs run a test on the time to waste clock and it is indeed accurate my methodology was as follow

plowed a single field on a non irrigated farm
planted 1 single plot of raspberry
it took 120 minutes (2hrs) to ripen
when it was ripe the time to waste started at 2.7 hrs(162 minutes)
i monitored it over the next 162 minutes (2.7 hrs)
there was no change in appearance untill the time to waste timer ran out
the field was unharvestable by any means
(and i have all the harvesters and the combine)

this was a true test carried out in a methodical fashion and the findings speak for themselves

1 . the time to waste timer is accurate
2. at least for raspberry there is no appearance change until the time to waste has run out
3. when it was showing wilted wasted plot it was not harvestable
I find the case to be proved !! Well done driverdave, and thank you

Thank you Helen it might settle the issue i wish i could do one like that for the red sprinkler but the opinions are so widely differing on that one.....i know it works and i think some of the people (no names mentioned or fingers pointed at any perosn here, but if the shoe fits ....wear it) are way too fussy and have overly high expectations

I think it would be hard to put the red sprinkler to a sufficient test to satisfy everyone. You definitely need to have your wits about you a little more using the red one, but my poor scattered wits enjoy the challenge. I'm producing twice as many flowers for my flower shop, and I haven't lost a crop that I've irrigated ..... yet

Gosh, there are some rather condescending posts about the red sprinkler. Apparently all you need to do is to apply more thought and concentration than before, and change the way you farm, and move all your flowers onto one or two farms, and everything is fine or you're just a whiner.

Seriously - why, if people have paid for the brown sprinkler in the expectation that paying for it means actually having it available, should they not have it available? It doesn't stop other people adjusting their game-playing or reworking their farms or creating spreadsheets or applying more thought and wits in order to maximise the benefit of the red sprinkler if they want to. For people who want to have some flowers on every farm and keep it all simple, and who want to just be able to water them with a tool that cost them 45 FC, as well as doing their thing with their red sprinkler that also cost them 50 FC, why shouldn't they be able to?

I truly love this game and have had such good customer service when I have an issue I feel bad complaining.....but I'm a little ticked we can only use the red sprinkler once per day. For the price I think we should be able to use it more often.

i have the red sprinkler it works well instead of waiting 4 days for crops i can harvest them in 2 ......i can harvest flowers after half of the previous growing time i never have a problem with ppls watering the flowers as i placed a single plot of acorn squash on my flower farm (can be any crop) this allows the red sprinkler to work to speed up flowers that have been watered and avoids the 20 hr wait to irrigate the flowers.....as to speeding up the crop ripening rate you still have the original time to harvest and the normal time to waste (i.e a 4 day irrigated crop is ready for harvest in 2 days BUT will NOT go to waste until 8 days after it was originally planted) i have experimented with all crop timeframes and have never had a problem.... if you need to grow short time crops then its just a matter of planning ahead to achieve the result you need
I agree I like mine - just takes a little planning - I had one glitch where a neighbour watered my flower/tree farm - no crops but part from that no problems. I WOULD like to be able to harvest my larger stables from the facility manager though!!!

My feedback on the sprinkler.

* I do not mind the every 20 hours, or per crop limitations.

* I do want the ability to use my brown sprinkler.
