This works if your friends ask for the same gift 5 times.

If they need 5 different gifts, then you will see the requests individually to click in each link for sending.

They can also ask for example for the same gift 3 times and then 2 other different gifts.
In that case you will see a row for the same gifts (3 times) and individually rows for the other 2 gifts for a total of 5 gifts requested.

They go to your storage. Currently they are not used in any of the service facilities so they can be sold in the market as non-ingredients.

re the 5 x gift update: the old problem of disappearing gifts still exist.
I just had the case (again!). This morning I sent out 5 requests for achiote trees.
I had quite some in my gift manager. Upon accepting them they were not in 'My Gifts' tab, they just vanished like before when asking 5 gifts of the same kind.
That is very disappointing (again).
And yes I know it might help to keep 1 seasonal gift in the gift manager, but it is the problem with 5 requests of the same kind. There still is a bug in that procedure.
I reported this a few times at the helpdesk but the developers can't help us with this because they can't reproduce this bug. And yet a lot of us have this problem.
As far as I know the only solution is to continue asking for 5 different gifts and change them all for that one item you want. That is the only way to have them in 'My Gifts' tab and claim them.
